I was born and raised in Western Washington state near Puget Sound.  As a boy I would often go fishing at local lakes or in saltwater inlets.  In high school I started backpacking in the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges.  I went to college at Seattle University.  After graduation I joined the Peace Corps and served two years in Turkey teaching English as a Foreign Language.

After returning to the United States, I went to graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley and earned an M.B.A.  I started a 43-year career in Information Technology Management in San Francisco.

I am blessed with two wonderful daughters, two great sons-in-law and five fantastic grandchildren.  I currently live in Venice, Florida, near the beautiful gulf coast.

I have just begun my second career, as an author.  I believe that one of the most satisfying things in my life is exercising my imagination.
